Tiffany Edwards is the Owner and Founder of Appealing Creations, a custom arts business that creates homemade candles, bath bombs, and soaps. This busy Navy wife and mother to a 5-year-old, is not afraid of a challenge. When she's not serenading her customers with relaxation candles, this 27-year-old entrepreneur is busy mastering her craft as a full-time student majoring in Entrepreneurship and Business Management.
“I’ve never been afraid to follow my dreams and go for what I believe in,” said Edwards. “Having a strong character is something that also pushed me to follow this path on entrepreneurship more.”
Here's an exclusive interview with Tiffany Edwards.
Would you say entrepreneurship found you or did you find it?
I feel as if it was a mix of both. Entrepreneurship kind of found me while I was searching for it. Not realizing I was meeting it half way. After years of not living up to my own expectations I finally realized that entrepreneurship was something that was always at my front door and the only way to be happy was to just jump on the bandwagon and follow my dreams.
As a business leader, what’s some of your greatest challenges?
At this moment I feel as though my greatest challenge is still myself. I need to better build myself up and just maintain that faith in knowing I can do this and I was made to do this. I need to keep the faith in knowing He has placed me on the right path.
When you’re not in business mode, what do you do for down time?
When I am not in "business mode" I am truly focusing on time with my son. I spend as much time with him as I possibly can. With his father being away it is extremely hard for us both and I just always smother him with love. He has not been dealing with the separation well and I never want him to forget that he is important and loved. I also love to read and draw. I am focusing on building my intimacy deeper with the Lord as well.
As a CEO Chick, how are you dominating your industry?
As a CEO Chick I don't feel as though I am dominating the industry as I should and as I would love to be, YET! I do feel as I have dominated as far as being better at it then the day I was before. Living as a single mother and attending school full time to follow my dream is a huge thing in itself. I would be lying if I said I was dominating in the aspects that I want to be. However, I know it is coming.
What's your number one advice to a fellow CEO chick or aspiring business leaders?
NEVER GIVE UP! Your dreams are your dreams to fulfill, so never stray and believe in yourself. You CAN do it!
What’s three things you would tell your younger self in business?
Push yourself, I am enough and don't lose faith.
What keeps you creative in business?
This is my passion so it comes so easily. Seeing the expressions when people order the products makes it all worthwhile.
